Frequently Asked Questions

We get many questions about various topics and we wanted to share some of the most common ones with you. Don’t see your question? Please contact us and we’ll answer any other questions you may have.

How long is the program?

Tamarack’s residential treatment program is 60 days. An extended 78-day treatment program is available for individuals who do not yet have 28 days free of alcohol/drugs. If you feel you’d benefit from additional time in treatment, we can tailor an extended program to suit you. We also offer ongoing aftercare support to all graduate clients.

I am ready for treatment now, do you have a bed space/how long is your waitlist?
We manage our waitlist carefully to ensure that you can receive support quickly and access treatment in a timely way. If you meet all the requirements, you could be in treatment right away. If you’re ready to take the next step towards recovery, start here.
Do abstinence and sobriety mean the same as drug and alcohol-free?
Yes. When Tamarack refers to clients having a period of abstinence or sobriety time we are talking about time that is entirely free of drug or alcohol use.
I think I meet the requirements for entry, what do I need to do now to get into the program?

Get started here to set up an appointment and discuss the options available to you.

I’m a friend/loved one of someone who needs help, what can I do to support them?

Tell them about Tamarack. Have your friend/loved one contact us to discuss their treatment options in confidence. You may also wish to contact our Intake Specialist, who will be happy to talk with you about your situation. If this person’s addiction affects you or your family, there are groups in Winnipeg that provide support to family members or loved ones such as Families Anonymous and Al-anon.
